The Rebirth of a Hero: Superman's Fresh Start in the New DCU
Superman soars back to theaters with renewed purpose and vibrant energy in James Gunn's fresh take on the iconic superhero. David Corenswet delivers a standout performance as Kal-El/Clark Kent, bringing both warmth and strength to a character that finally feels liberated from the brooding darkness of previous DCEU iterations.
What makes this Superman special is its perfect balance of camp and heart. The film embraces Superman's inherent optimism while never sacrificing emotional depth. Corenswet's Superman doesn't curse, maintains unwavering moral principles, and genuinely believes in helping others – qualities that feel refreshingly authentic rather than naively outdated. This Superman represents hope in its purest form, something both the character and DC fans have desperately needed.
Nicholas Holt's Lex Luthor emerges as one of the film's greatest strengths – a complex villain driven by control issues and jealousy rather than cartoonish evil. The film takes time to develop his motivations, creating a foil for Superman that feels genuinely threatening despite lacking superpowers. Rachel Brosnahan brings intelligence and determination to Lois Lane, though some viewers might find her portrayal less memorable than past iterations. The supporting cast shines with excellent performances from Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern and a scene-stealing Krypto the Superdog.
What truly elevates the film is how it positions Superman within the larger DCU framework. By introducing characters like Mr. Terrific, Hawkwoman, and teasing Supergirl's arrival, the movie builds exciting foundations for future stories without ever feeling overstuffed. This careful world-building shows Gunn understands what made early MCU films successful – focus on making one great character-driven story while planting seeds for what's to come.
Whether you're a lifelong Superman fan or newcomer to DC, this film delivers everything you could want: thrilling action, genuine emotion, and the unabashed joy of seeing Superman truly be Superman again. Don't miss this triumphant new beginning for the Man of Steel and the bright future it promises for the entire DC Universe.
The weekend's here. It's time to unwind. Grab your snacks, leave the week behind. Blockbusters classics, they're all on the way. Let's kick it off with Cinema Saturdays.
Speaker 2:Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Cinema Saturday. On the Couch Critic, I'm your host, nathan, and on today's episode I have another special co-host. I'm so excited I'm getting all these people that are like, hey, can I be on your? Okay, they're not asking me to come on here, I'm actually asking them, but they are coming on the show and they're talking about movies because it's fun to talk about movies and so, without any further ado, special guest, please introduce yourself and let the listeners know how you know me.
Speaker 3:Okay. So hello listeners. I am Alexis. You can call me Lexi. No one ever calls me Alexis. I know Nathan because I am a fellow there. I might say therapy.
Speaker 2:I mean it is kind of like therapy sometimes.
Speaker 3:It's like therapy. We both work in the theater world. We became friends at church through kids ministry. We found out that we both love theater, done a couple of shows together and you know he's been a great friend and we both enjoy some of the same things Theater movies. Well, those are all swell. And you know he's been a great friend and we both enjoy some of the same things theater movies well, those are all swell.
Speaker 2:Those are all swell things to say about me, and if you know what movie we're talking about already, you understand the reference to me using the word swell. If you remember the original superman movie, I already gave away what we're talking about. We're talking about Superman today, 2025, introduction to the new DCU, dceu, whatever they want to call it universe and, yeah, we went to go see it with a group of friends and we're going to talk about it and I'm really, really excited. But before I can talk about our likes and dislikes of this movie, I'm going to go over the synopsis, even though basically everybody knows about superman.
Speaker 1:So here we go.
Speaker 2:Superman must reconcile his alien kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. As reporter, clark kent as the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned superman 2025 stars david cordonswet as superman, rachel bronzen on as lois lane, nicholas holt as lex luther and alan tudyk as gary, which if you haven't seen the movie, you don't know who gary is. And we might get into who gary is, but I'm surprised it didn't like list. Nathan fillion as guy gardner, aka the green lantern, mr terrific, and hawk hawk girl, hawk woman version she's supposed to be, but there's like a plethora of characters in this movie.
Speaker 2:So let's go right ahead and talk about the big elephant in the room that a lot of people were hoping this movie would fail because of Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder. And I'll admit, wb did Henry Cavill dirty. They did, they did. They introduced him at the end of the Black Adam movie as a little special cameo of what was supposed to be coming next, and that totally fell apart. So what were your thoughts going into this movie? Were you hoping it would succeed? Where were you at?
Speaker 3:I was hoping for a good superhero movie, if that makes sense, good superhero movie, if that makes sense. I kind of did want DC to get a win, because I feel like DC has had like some wins but they haven't had like a good win, win in a good movie in a long time. Flash didn't do well, blue Beetle didn't do well. So I was like hoping, even though Blue Beetle is a really good movie, but that's you know there. But like I was hoping for a, even though Blue Beans is actually a really good movie, but that's the end of it. But like I was hoping for a win. So I didn't go in hoping that it would fail, I was hoping that it would do really well and like be entertaining, because I feel like the movies right now are not entertaining. So I think it did that.
Speaker 2:I remember when I first saw man of Steel. I think the only reason I liked it is because I'm a fan of Superman. I like the character. It's just a fun character. It's a cool character and after re-watching it recently and I know there's going to be some people that are not going to agree with this I don't think Henry Cavill was a good Superman.
Speaker 3:Who wasn't? So hear me out, though. I feel like he was a good Superman who wasn't? Who wasn't? So hear me out, though I feel like he was a good. Clark Kent, Like he was a good.
Speaker 2:Clark. See, I don't even think his Clark Kent was that good, because here's the thing Before we recorded this, a couple days ago, I decided to try to watch all the movie iterations of Superman.
Speaker 3:Now.
Speaker 2:I didn't watch Superman 2, 3, and 4.
Speaker 2:But I watched the original Superman with Christopher Reeve and then I watched Superman Returns with Brandon Routh and I didn't re-watch man of Steel because I already knew my thoughts on it. I still think that Christopher Reeve is the best iteration of Superman and Clark Kent, the way he just and there's one scene in particular I don't know if you've ever seen the original superman, yeah, but there's that one scene where he's thinking about telling lois that he's a superman and he takes off like he goes from being like hunched over and nerdy as clark kent. He takes off the glasses and he stands up straight. It's just that little moment right there that just solidifies the fact that he was the best representation of superman. And, yeah, I just there's nothing. No one, I think, is ever going to get close to that now. That being said, I re-watched superman returns. I didn't remember how much I liked it and I didn't really like it still. Because I don't? Because it was supposed to be like a sequel to the original Superman, like they're supposed to basically be erasing Superman 2 through Superman 4. You can make a mention of Lois Lane's article the Night I Spent with Superman and all that stuff.
Speaker 2:I thought Brandon Routh was an OK Superman. I know nowadays Kevin Spacey is kind of. You know, people don't really like Kevin Spacey nowadays. I thought his Lex Luthor was great. I thought he played a really good Lex Luthor. And then you get to man of Steel and obviously I know the direction that they were trying to go in. They were doing more gritty, more realistic, whatever it didn't sell. The acting was very stoic, very bland, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor I just don't know what they were thinking. Yeah so, yeah, so. Now we come to again 2025, and James.
Speaker 2:Gunn takes control of DC and I don't know if you've seen what's that the cartoon, the commandos.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the creature commandos.
Speaker 3:I don't know if you've seen that. Yeah, I have. I watched that. That was actually pretty good. Yeah, it was pretty good.
Speaker 2:I mean, I talked to Mitch last episode and I said no, obviously, adult content, language, some of this violence in there is a little too much at times, but other than that I thought it was. I felt for every single character, even the weasel character. I felt for every single character. And so that was just the start of what James Gunn is going for. And then he officially starts it with the Superman movie. So let's go right into our likes and dislikes. Alexis, what did? Or lexi, or whatever, what did you like about this movie?
Speaker 3:so I love superman. I really did. I love the, the development of the story. I feel like he. I didn't feel like he rushed it. He gave everyone their like time to breathe. He built the characters so you can understand, like, why lex luther is the way he is. I felt like that was something that was missing in other movies. Like everybody just paint lex as the bad guy. He showed why lex was a bad guy like he showed.
Speaker 2:Why do you think? Why do you think lex was the bad guy in this movie? Like what was?
Speaker 3:it, I think I think he is. It's so much deeper than jealousy for me. I think lex wanted to be in control and superman was the person in front of him to keep him from being in control, and he couldn't control him and because he couldn't control him, it drove him mad.
Speaker 2:That's my personal opinion yeah, I I heard other explanations is the fact that Lex Luthor is, you know, obviously this rich guy, he has resources and he could actually accomplish a lot, and but people choose to to turn to someone who just showed up out of nowhere. Yes, has resources, but he feels like he can, through technology or whatever can benefit the people more than this random alien calling him a metahuman or a demon in this movie, and so that's that's where the frustration comes from. And lex straight up admits that, yes, he is jealous and yes, you know he it's, it's his pride. That won't acknowledge the fact that superman is there not to take the place of lex luther, but if they could work together they could probably do a lot.
Speaker 2:A lot, a lot but lex just wants to be the person that everyone looks to, and so when this, he has a whole power If he don't got power he's a this I think Nicholas Holt did a great job as Lex Luthor.
Speaker 2:I still think to this day that Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville fame is my favorite Lex Luthor of all time, which I did not notice until I saw the credits that Michael Rosenbaum is in this movie when were you? Yet he plays one of the Raven soldiers that you don't. I don't even know if you see his face. You might just hear his voice.
Speaker 3:Oh, I feel like if I was seeing him, I'd be like yo, because Smallville was one of my favorite shows growing up, though.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, and that's what I. That's what I like about James Gunn's explanation about some of the stuff that he did, too, like Luther Corp. The reason he named it Luther Corp is he took that from Smallville and just ran with that, and it also opens the door to the future, maybe having Lionel Luther or maybe even Luther's mom come into the picture. And another thing I like that he took from Smallville at least I feel like he took from Smallville is something that a lot of people are kind of up in the air about, and that is the fact that Jor-El and his mother originally wanted Superman to take control and rule the world, and that's something that kind of Smallville introduced too, which is why I wasn't one of those people that was very surprised that they had direction, because it really did solidify the fact that it wasn't Superman's Kryptonian parents that gave him the source of his hope and truth and justice and whatever you want to call it. It was his earthly parents.
Speaker 2:And that ending part where they showed those own videos, yes, so why I almost cried? It was so beautiful. I was like we kind of mentioned before that they introduced a plethora of other characters. So what did you? Because a lot of people are on the fence on that too, because sometimes people complain that it takes away from superman, who the movie's supposed to be about, and then there's other people that it's world building. So where do you fall into that?
Speaker 3:I loved it, especially because james gonna try to start a new world and I think starting out a new world he had to introduce some more people and I enjoyed it. I love mr terrific. He was my favorite out the ones that he brought. I don't know if you remember he was the guy in X-Men Madonna from an X-Men class, yeah, and they never like he never got justice. So just to see the actor come like as Mr Terrific and he did his thing, I enjoyed him. I enjoyed Green Lantern. He wasa little bit of a snob but it was a good snobby and it was kind of fun.
Speaker 2:I think it was good it opened the door to go other places yeah, and it's funny you mentioned that about mr terrific, because the guy who played general flag was also a marvel person yeah, yeah crossbones and he kind of had the same story, like they promised him that he would be in the, he would be in future movies, and then they killed him off in the next movie.
Speaker 2:So, yeah, he was like, hey, I'm gonna hop over to dc because they're gonna, they're gonna use me more. So every person that was cast in this movie was was even like the dog. I mean, he hado. The first time Crypto on the big screen.
Speaker 3:Crypto was cute.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Crypto was cute and he did have like a Hulk moment at the end with Lex Luthor, which I thought was really funny. And then the big reveal of who Crypto actually belongs to. Spoiler alert Spoiler alert that super girl shows up and takes crypto because they're going to have her movie out next year, opening this brand of this whole world wide open. You got the Lanterns TV show coming out soon, and so Nathan Phelan went to.
Speaker 3:Jonathan's show coming out soon, and so nathan phillian went to jonathan's show coming season two as well.
Speaker 2:They they showed him I'm really excited the direction they're going to go in. I think they're doing what they should have done in the first place, even though they did introduce a lot of characters. But they're kind of going in the same direction that mcu started off with, and and that's that's always been my thing. I really think, because a lot of people are like, well, no, they don't want to copy MCU. I'm like why, why not Just introduce a character at a time and then build it up to the Justice League? And I think that's what they're going to do, and I really like that.
Speaker 2:They went this cheesy, campy Superman route, because when they introduce Batman, batman's supposed to be the gritty, realistic character and they're supposed to be foils off each other. So that's what makes this exciting, because he is that Cub Scout Superman. He doesn't like to lie. He's the only character in the entire movie that doesn't say a single curse word, and so it makes sense. It just makes sense that they went this direction with that I'm very excited about. But is there anything that you didn't like?
Speaker 3:oh, some, some dislikes. Oh wow, let me think about it. Oh, I didn't like the whole.
Speaker 3:It was him in the mask like I know, yeah, I, I know that's a comic book reference. However, being that we got spider-man into the spider-verse world and that's the same direction it was going, I thought it was a little bit lazy. Like I said, I know that's the source material, but I'm like you could have went a different route for that per se. That was just my thinking. What else did I? Dislike people? Oh gosh people. Please don't be mad at me. I didn't like Lois.
Speaker 2:I didn't like Lois. I think she's better than Amy Adams she is.
Speaker 2:Amy Adams was annoying the fact that I wanted Lois Lane to drown in. I think it was Batman vs Superman. Yes, that's how much she did not do a good job as a list like. So I will say that rachel brazahan, whatever I think she did a much better job as amy adams. I think she was more the lowest lane that just needs to be there. I will say, going back to smallville, I think erica durance is my lowest right yeah, I was about to say that, but she'll be my pick too, yeah and so I think Smallville did a really good job at casting those characters they did.
Speaker 2:I really wish that they would have continued and did a movie. But that's neither here nor there. But to go back to what you said about Ultraman, I think the whole point of that and I know you said you know it's a comic book thing, but I think the whole point is because the whole issue people had before they even saw the movie was how beat up Superman got so many times, and the whole point is the fact that he was getting beat up by another version of himself and so that's the only way anyone can beat him except, obviously, kryptonite.
Speaker 2:So I think that was to justify the fact that how badly he was getting beat up and the fact that that lex was so obsessed with him that he studied him for years and created this clone of him. I I thought it was great. One thing I thought they could have done, but obviously some people would have thought of it as like a slap in the face was they could have revealed that it was henry cavill as ultra man, because that's because there were like pictures going around online obviously fake that it was henry cavill, but I I you know, I thought that would be kind of funny if it was, but it would have been.
Speaker 3:it would have been kind of funny if it was, but it wasn't. It would have been, or maybe even when the older Superman felt like I could have. I just I don't know, and, like I said, it could just be. I just felt like we already got that kind of art in another superhero movie. I want something else, yeah, and they did that with.
Speaker 2:They kind of did that with the TV show the Flash Mm-hmm, or you know, the alternate universe version or the movie the Flash too, he was going against himself.
Speaker 3:That's who knocked him out. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're right, you're right.
Speaker 3:So it's like we done seen this storyline y'all multiple times yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean.
Speaker 3:I didn't mind it as much as some people did.
Speaker 2:But I think the only thing I didn't like about it and this is probably because we're so used to the humdrum of the DCEU is that some of it did come off as a little bit eye-rollingly cheesy. But again, I think that might be just because we're not used to a campy Superman. I think the last campy Superman was Christopher Reeve. I don't think Brandon Rouths was so much campy.
Speaker 3:I remember him still being very dramatic.
Speaker 2:The fact that he let his dad die because his dad didn't want him to save him. I was like that's not Jonathan Kent, man, that's not Jonathan Kent and I thought it was. I wasn't sure about how I felt about the choice they made in this one with Jonathan and Martha, but the more I watched it, the more I'm like this makes sense. And again, it goes with the comics, and I'll be the first to admit I'm not an avid comic book reader. But I know enough about the comics that when you, when you see pictures of jonathan and martha, oh yeah that's kind of what they're going for.
Speaker 2:Yeah, probably you know these, these just sweet, the kindest old people that you could ever meet, very southern, very, uh, southern hospitality, and that those are the type of people that raised superman. And yeah, I, just I, yeah, I just, I know the other thing.
Speaker 3:I, I like, disliked her let's girlfriend. She was the. She was a low-key clutch of a movie, but the entire time she had her phone up I was like, oh my gosh, she's throwing it out. And then I was like oh wait.
Speaker 2:I'm glad you had your phone, because you saved everything, and that kind of harkens back to Christopher Reeve's Superman, where Lex Luthor's girlfriend is super annoying but ends up secretly, secretly helping them, helping them out so I mean I I didn't mind her either. I I thought the way they did jimmy was was very new a new way jimmy, but he was still very much jimmy yeah, I just I, I think.
Speaker 3:I think they did a great job I hope harley don't have that many dislikesikes. I feel like for it to be a start, something new. It did a really good job.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it did what it was supposed to do. I went in with no real like I didn't have high expectations, but I also didn't have low expectations, and it did exactly what I thought it was going to do. It was a fun time. It made me laugh, it made me almost cry. It made me laugh, it made me almost cry, it made me like Superman again. It gave me hope for the future of the DCU and it just did a really, really good job. I do want to ask what did you think of Bradley Cooper playing Jor-El?
Speaker 3:People can see my face right now. You will understand the thought process, because I was like it was an interesting pick. I didn't like it.
Speaker 2:I didn't love it, it was in between I mean again the fact that he was there basically just to be a hologram, like david corn sweat actually admitted that he's never actually met bradley cooper, so they weren't on set together, but I think in the context of the movie I didn't. I don't think it really mattered who played jor-el, yeah, but I know, I know Bradley Cooper and James Gunn are friends.
Speaker 1:Michael.
Speaker 2:Rooker was the voice of one of the robots. I think her name's Pamela. She played Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy. She was the voice of one of the robots, so James Gunn is known for. You know Nathan Fillion, for goodness sake, he's friends with James Gunn, so he's known for giving his friends jobs. Another question, even though I think James Gunn has kind of confirmed this and a lot of people have confirmed this, do you think the second half of the message was actually real?
Speaker 3:No, See, I think, I think, hold on, I think yes and no. I think it had some truth to it, but I don't think the overall message was for him to take over the world. It was like, hey, if you need a place to go, this would be the easiest place for you to go. Live and not die.
Speaker 2:Right, yeah, because like the thing that took me back by it was the whole harem thing, mm-hmm, and like lording over, yeah, and putting my Christian hat on this could be me overthinking of what James Gunn was trying to do.
Speaker 2:Because, if you know, if you know the history of Superman, a lot of people liken Superman to like, like a christ figure, especially with some of the lines that they say like in man of steel, and even superman returns and I think a little bit in in the original. I and again this could be on me overthinking it probably is. Do you think them putting that negative, negative slant on lording over the earth could be james gunn's way of trying to take away that christ-like persona of superman? Or do you think I'm just overthinking it?
Speaker 3:I think. I think it just depends on how you look at it, because in a way that can be a negative thing. Because if as a a believer, as a other Christian, I see why people always look at Superman like Jesus, like his whole art story do follow, if you like, want to go deep in it, his art story do follow loosely the story of Jesus, I think. How can I say this? I think I don't think it had anything much to do about the lordship part and a lot to do with he wanted to take back the who really was his parents. Superman didn't know them. Superman knew the Stokey family. He didn't know them. But I think it just took that. I don't think it's that deep. Maybe I'm a little hopeful that it wasn't that deep to me it was more like a Maybe.
Speaker 2:I'm a little hopeful that it wasn't that deep. Well, to me it was more like a knee jerk, like a little blip in my head. I'm like was James Gunn? I'm like, no, he's probably not doing that, but I just thought I'd bring it up.
Speaker 3:To me. It will please some of our other fellow Christians who don't like Superman because of the fact that they think he's too much like Jesus. Who don't like Superman because of that fact they think he's too much like Jesus.
Speaker 3:So it takes away him being the God Jesus. Yeah, in a way, cause I'm like it just depends on how you look at it, cause some people do don't. I know I've seen a lot of posts on Facebook from some Christian Christian. I don't want to call him Christian Christian. That sounds bad. I know you did not watch this movie. You are literally getting all your information from another website. That's making it. It's making it bad because you're saying stuff I'm like that wasn't even in the movie y'all.
Speaker 2:Yeah, people made people made a lot of stink about and this will be the last thing we talked about before we rate it. But a lot of people would make a big stink about how they really leaned on the fact that he was an alien. They were trying to relate it to immigration, which I think they vaguely mentioned, some like border stuff, and I did. I will say I did think it was interesting that they were trying to hit two countries against each other. One was invading the other. I was like you know that could be, you know, interpreted as like political leaning. Yeah, and James Gunn himself has openly admitted that this movie is about politics. So take that with whatever you want. I didn't see it as heavily being about politics. I know where he's talking about and you know. And then also you have those people who make a big to-do about the fact that superman no longer says truth, justice in the american way anymore.
Speaker 3:But here's the thing like I'm a comic book lover, right, but in the comic book there's a whole arc in a comic book where superman actually denounces his american citizenship. It's a comic book arc. So I'm like that's why when, remember, we're sitting there I was like I'm I don't understand what people keep saying, it's too political.
Speaker 2:I was like if you actually read the comic books, superman got really political well, and the fact that that motto has changed over the years is because I did my research on it, because a lot of people were saying stuff about it and the original motto was just truth and justice, yep. And then they put American way in the 1940s because of World War II and you know, to show support for the soldiers and troops and all that stuff, and then it was truth justice and something else. And then then it was truth justice and something else, and then now it's truth justice and a better tomorrow. So I'm like.
Speaker 2:I don't care, as long as there's a good story being told, and that's exactly what this movie was. It was a good story. It was fun. It was just a good time in the theaters.
Speaker 3:If you box him in I'm so geeky about this if you box Superman into just the American way, he will only save people in the United States. Then and that wasn't the arc of him he's supposed to be able to save the world, which again goes back to the whole underlying stuff that he's written off of Right.
Speaker 2:Well, yeah, all in all, this was a fun movie. So let's go ahead and rate the 2025 beginning of the DCU Superman. What would you give this movie?
Speaker 3:one to five stars as a die hard Marvel fan. This is an argument between myself and Antoine a lot. He's a DC and I am a Marvel. I will have to give it a good 4.8.
Speaker 2:Nice 4.8. I like that. I like that.
Speaker 3:Half of me couldn't give it. I want to give it a 5, but I'm like I'll give it a 4.8.
Speaker 2:You know what I'm going to see? That's very unconventional. Usually I try to be like a 4.5 or5, but I'm gonna give it a 4.8 as well, because I I do still think there's my very minor minor things that I probably would have changed. I don't know what they are, but I'm sure they're there. So that is our thoughts on superman. Oh, but also someone else did go see this with me and she would be really mad if I forgot to mention her.
Speaker 2:My lovely wife, my lovely wife elizabeth, went to go see this movie with me and she would be really mad if I forgot to mention her, my lovely wife, my lovely wife elizabeth, went to go see this movie with me and since my wife did go see this with me, we have to do the segment called elizabeth likes and dislikes. So one thing my wife liked about this movie is it wasn't as cheesy as other dc movies I've seen she enjoyed it as much as she did a marvel movie, so kind of harkens back what you said.
Speaker 2:I do think it's interesting. She said that it wasn't as cheesy. You know, I mean this was this movie was pretty cheesy at times, like, yeah, but you know, she loved it. And one thing she didn't like some some of the obvious CGI moments which I agree, like even because I thought they would fix it when the movie came out. Like there was one moment where he says, hey, my eyes are up here or my head's look up here, or something. His face just looked a little weird. Yeah, yeah, but I mean, for what it was, I think the CGI was pretty good. Yeah, there wasn't anything that took me out of the movie. And she would give Superman 2025 a 4.5 out of 5.
Speaker 3:Ooh, Ooh, all around the same.
Speaker 2:That's right. So go out and see it. Don't listen to the critics I mean even though the critics have been saying nothing but good things. Don't listen to the Snyder box, which I thought was really funny what they did in the movie it was really random, but I liked what they did. But I'm not going to say what they did. You have to go see the movie.
Speaker 1:Go see it.
Speaker 2:But I thought it was funny. It was kind of like a little slap in the face. But that of like a little slap in the face, but that is superman. Go out and see it. And this tuesday I'm going to be reviewing eloise at christmas time never seen it, but it's a christmas movie. And then next cinema sunday, I'm taking on two movies. I'm going to go see the reboot of I know what you did last summer, and only because it's on my list I I'm talking about Smurfs.
